This course covers jig,fixture & tool design used in manufacturing sectors. Learner will be introduced  to the theory o jig,fixtures & tool design concept and expose  the learner to the application of jig, fixture & tool inside the mahufacturing process. Every part produced must be held while it is machined, joined, inspected or has any number of other operations performed on it. Material mechanical properties such as yields, elasticity etc., play the roles as a sustainability contribution in material life cycle to be used and high productive process that could be implemented. 

Efficiencies and quality of the products are, to a great extent, influenced by the design and maintenance of the jig,fixture & tool used in the process. A thorough understanding of how and why jig, fixture & tool are designed through the various elements and considerations of designs is therefore necessary in order to achieve this. The principles of design are covered in detail and the participants will have to complete a design development   as required from the tasks through out the completion of the course.
